Communications and Programs Manager

Ivan as the Communications and Programs Manager, directs the organization's communications strategy and oversees program implementation. Ivan has over 15 years of experience in the private health sector, including pharmaceutical supply chain, insurance, health service delivery, contract and grant implementation of programs that improve health systems. Ivan represents UHF on the Ministry of Health's Clinical and Health Infrastructure, Medicines Procurement and Management, Fistula, and Health Information, Innovation, and Research (HIIRE) Technical Working Groups. Ivan is part of the Health Data Collaborative (HDC) representing Uganda’s private sector.

Ivan has contributed to the writing of proposals and coordinated the successful implementation of several grants, contracts and programs funded by IFC World Bank, USAID, MasterCard Foundation and SWECARE, ensuring timely and quality reporting. Ivan has been the program point person in the USAID Health Systems Strengthening Activity that saw UHF working through city health teams and local government organs for the onboarding of private health facilities into the national COVID-19 response as static vaccination sites. Ivan oversaw the training of health workers and data entrants ensuring access and accurate and timely reporting from private facilities of COVID-19 vaccine data into the EPIVAC system. Ivan participates in the weekly COVID-19 coordination meetings with development and implementing partners, and prepares update presentations on contribution of the private sector for the Greater Metropolitan Kampala update meetings and the Ministry of Health through UNEPI.

Ivan has coordinated health systems support to Uganda on COVID-19 for the private health sector, as representative from Uganda on the East Africa Healthcare Federation consortium with, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi to amplify and leverage the private health sector's contribution to the region's COVID-19 health systems response.
