Health Sector Segmentation

Survey to Landscape and Identify Private Sector Players in Health

There has been exponential growth of the Uganda health sector, in particular the non-state health sector. With the numerous investments and developments, has come duplication in investment and persistent gaps that are un-catered for. During the Private Sector Assessment for Uganda (2016), one key learning was the wide proliferation of information on the private health sector. Enumerators had to visit several sources to collect information to triangulate and this underscored the need for a central point of information.

The information shared will allow us to better understand the landscape of the various non-state health sector organizations operating in health with the aim of creating an online information resource area accessible to the general public that will describe the services and activities undertaken by various private sector players. This will improve efficiency in engaging private sector players and enable information sharing for informed investment and development decisions.

UHF would like to reassure you that the information collected is to be used for knowledge sharing purposes and thus requests for your participation in the exercise and consent to share the information with parties interested in the Uganda non state health sector.

Uganda Healthcare Federation has categorized all organizations that participated in this survey under the WHO Health Systems Framework (Six World Health Organization Pillars) below;
